Calgary is booming. Every place you drive there seems to be a new construction popping up. Construction sites are interesting places. In the beginning there doesn't seem to be much visibly happening. Digging ditches and pouring forms doesn't give the impression that much is going on. The foundation for the house is being built. In the fall of 2005 we in Global Ministries began a major overhaul of our entire system. With our renewed emphasis on going to the places with the fewest number of Christians we realized that we needed to modify many aspects of the old system. Much of 2006 was devoted to working out exactly what issues need to be addressed. We now feel that we have been able to identify the changes we desire to make. Now the new phase of what we do is under construction. We want to get information about to people who are sensing God's nudge to serve globally. In January of this year we started the construction site of the CONVERGE website. We realized that a good website would be a very helpful way of helping people know what the new directions are for GM. Over these past months we have been busy on the construction "website". We've needed to define what questions people are asking and we have needed to reflect on how to most clearly communicate the new directions for GM. That has been the "foundational stuff." Having clarified this in our own mind now we can build this into the CONVERGE website. We desire that this be a "place" to come and find not only information, but a sense of being part of a community of those sensing God's call to serve in another country.
